Consultancy at Herlev and Gentofte Hospital, Department of Cardiology, combined with a clinical professorship in Cardiology with special focus on Inflammation and Ischaemic Heart Disease
A clinical position as consultant at the Department of Cardiology at
Herlev and Gentofte Hospital is open for appointment from as soon as possible.
The position is combined with with a 5-year externally funded position as clinical professor of Cardiology with special focus on
Inflammation and Ischaemic Heart Disease at the Faculty of Health and Medical
Sciences, University of Copenhagen.
With this new position the Department of Cardiology at Herlev and
Gentofte Hospital wishes to strengthen the leadership in clinical research and
teaching in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen.
It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment
of both the professorship and the consultancy.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Cardiology at Herlev and Gentofte Hospital offers
specialised cardiology care including diagnostic and interventional
catheterisation procedures, electrophysiology diagnostic and interventional
procedures (ablations), permanent pacemaker implantations (including
implantable defibrillators and biventricular pacemakers), echocardiography,
cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, and various cardiovascular stress tests.
The department also provides a specialised cardiovascular care learning
environment for medical students, junior doctors and residents.
Research and teaching
With the new position as consultant in the Department of Cardiology
and clinical professor of Cardiology with special focus on Inflammation and
Ischaemic Heart Disease at the Department of Clinical Medicine at the Faculty
of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen wishes to strengthen
leadership in clinical research and teaching. The research environment in the
Department of Cardiology is the most productive at the hospital and the
professor will participate in developing this position together with the 2 other
professors in the department.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be board-certified specialist in Cardiology.
Conditions
In order to be considered,
the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship)
and to the hospital (the consultancy) cf. the simultaneously advertised
position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the
applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are
already employed as consultants at the Department of Cardiology at Herlev and
Gentofte Hospital.
Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed
between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists
and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.
As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be
allocated to academic tasks (e.g. research, teaching, evaluation tasks and
communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of
Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining
time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of the
Department of Cardiology, Herlev and Gentofte Hospital. The clinical professor
will receive secretarial or technical support equivalent to 50 % of a full time
secretary position from the Department of Cardiology, Herlev and Gentofte
Hospital. Additional support and details on the working conditions must be
negotiated with the head of the Department of Cardiology, Herlev and Gentofte
Hospital.
