Consultancy in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry combined with a clinical professorship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with special focus on Prevention and early Intervention
A clinical position as consultant of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre at Mental Health Services in the Capital Region is open for appointment from as soon as possible.
The position is combined with a 5-year externally funded position as clinical professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with special focus on Prevention and early Intervention at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.
With this new position the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre at Mental Health Services in the Capital Region wishes to strengthen the leadership in clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen.
It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Organisation
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre is part of Mental Health services in the Capital Region of Denmark. The Center covers all 29 municipalities in the Capital Region of Denmark with a total child and adolescent population.
The Centre has two departments, 13 outpatient units and 8 inpatients units (incl. 1 emergency admission).
Clinical functions and focus areas of the department
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre covers all clinical functions of the Child an Adolescent Psychiatry.
There is a special clinical and developmental focus on the seven “high specialised functions” in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry: Complicated Schizophrenia, Bipolar and Complicated Depressive Disorders, Complicated Neuropsychiatry, Complicated Eating Disorders, children below age of 5 with psychopharmacology needs, children and youth with Sexual Identity Disorder and Forensic Psychiatry in youth.
Referrals to the center come from general practitioners or the municipalities. They are processed by the Central Visitation of the hospital (CVI).
Research and teaching
With the new position as consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and clinical professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with special focus on Studies of Clinical Interventions the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre wishes to strengthen leadership in clinical research and teaching.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be board-certified specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Conditions: In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship) and to the hospital (the consultancy) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as consultants at Mental Health Services in the Capital Region.
Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.
As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g. research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre. The clinical professor will receive secretarial or technical support equivalent to 50 % of a full time secretary position from the department of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre. Additional support and details on the working conditions must be negotiated with the head of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre at Mental Health Services in the Capital Region.
