Consultancy in Obstetrics and Gynecology

Consultancy in Obstetrics and Gynecology combined with a clinical professorship in in Obstetrics and Gynecology with special focus on Interprofessional Learning 
 
A clinical position as consultant of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Mother and Child University Hospital (BørneRiget) at Rigshospitalet is open for appointment from as soon as possible. 
 
The position is combined with a 5-year externally funded position as clinical professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology with special focus on Interprofessional Learning at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.  
 
With this new position the Mother and Child University Hospital (BørneRiget), Rigshospitalet wishes to strengthen the leadership in clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen. 
 
It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy. 
 
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT 
Organisation 
Rigshospitalet, The Capital Region of Denmark and Ole Kirk´s Foundation have joined forces to create a new, innovative public hospital building for children, adolescents, pregnant women and their relatives – BørneRiget. The ambition is a hospital that sets new standards for treatment, research and training.  
The strategy of BørneRiget focus on three areas: patient treatment, education and research.  To strengthen the strategy specifically within education and research BørneRiget in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen wish to employ a consultant and clinical professor in interprofessional research and learning. 
 
Clinical functions and focus areas of the department 
The focus of the consultancy is education and training. The clinical function includes facilitation and participation in clinical conferences, debriefing, team-training, etc. The specific tasks can be made in agreement with the Chief Medical Officer of BørneRiget. 
Research and teaching 
With the new position as consultant at BørneRiget and clinical professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology with special focus on Interprofessional Learning the hospital wishes to strengthen leadership in clinical research and teaching. 
 
Qualifications 
Applicants must be board-certified specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology. 
 
Conditions 
In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship) and to the hospital (the consultancy) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as consultants at Rigshospitalet. 
 
Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region and University of Copenhagen. 
 
As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g. research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for work in the centre in agreement with the Chief Medical Officer. The clinical professor will receive secretarial or technical support equivalent to 50 % of a full time secretary position from BørneRiget. Additional support and details on the working conditions must be negotiated with the head of BørneRiget, Rigshospitalet.
