Senior researcher position combined with a clinical professorship in Orthopaedic Surgery with special focus on Sports and Orthopaedic Physiotherapy 
 
A clinical position as senior researcher in sports orthopaedic physiotherapy at the Department of orthopaedic surgery at Hvidovre Hospital is open for appointment from as soon as possible. 
 
The position is combined with with a 5-year externally funded position as clinical professor with special focus on Sports and Orthopaedic physiotherapy at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. 
 
With this new position the Department of orthopaedic surgery at Hvidovre Hospital wishes to strengthen the leadership in clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen. 
 
It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the clinical position. 
 
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT 
Organisation 
The department has 1 CMO, 2 professors, 27 chief surgeons, 8 department specialists and 42 junior doctors at different levels. 
The position is at Sports Orthopedic Research Center- Copenhagen (SORC-C) which is the research unit at the Arthroscopic Center of the department. 
 
Clinical functions and focus areas of the department 
Arthroplasty, hand surgery, foot and ankle surgery, paediatric orthopaedics, arthroscopic surgery and sports orthopaedics, and Traumatology are all covered in the department 
 
Clinical functions and focus areas for the position 
Research at SORC-C in the field of sports and orthopaedics physiotherapy with special focus on arthroscopic surgery. 
 
Research and teaching 
With the new position senior researcher in sports orthopaedic physiotherapy and clinical professor of Sports and Orthopaedic physiotherapy the Department of orthopaedic surgery wishes to strengthen leadership in clinical research and teaching. 
 
Qualifications: 
Applicants must be a board-certified registered physiotherapist with at least a PhD. degree. 
 
Conditions: In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship) and to the hospital (the clinical position) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as senior researchers at Hvidovre Hospital. 
 
Salary and conditions of employment as senior researcher are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Association of Danish Physiotherapists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen. 
 
As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g. research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for research, development and teaching in agreement with the head of orthopaedic surgery at Hvidovre Hospital. The clinical professor will receive secretarial or technical support equivalent to 50 % of a full time secretary position from the department of orthopaedic surgery at Hvidovre Hospital. Additional support and details on the working conditions must be negotiated with the head of the department of orthopaedic surgery at Hvidovre Hospital.
