Consultancy in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry combined with a clinical professorship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
A permanent clinical position as consultant of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre at the Mental Health Services in the Capital Region is open for appointment from as soon as possible.
The position is combined with a permanent position as clinical professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.
With this new position the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre at the Mental Health Services in the Capital Region wishes to strengthen the leadership in clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen.
It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Organisation
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre is part of the Mental Health Services in the Capital Region of Denmark.
The Centre covers the Child an Adolescent Psychiatry services for all 29 municipalities in the Capital Region.
The Centre has two departments, the outpatient department with 13 units and the inpatients department with eight units.
Clinical functions and focus areas of the department
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre covers all clinical functions of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
There is a special clinical and developmental focus on the seven “High Specialized Functions” in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Denmark: Complicated and Early Schizophrenia, Bipolar and Complicated Depressive Disorder, Complicated Neuropsychiatry, Complicated and Early Eating Disorder, Children below the age of 5 with Psychopharmacology needs, Children and Youth with Sexual Identity Disorder and Forensic Psychiatry in Youth.
Referrals to the Centre comes from General Practitioners or the Municipalities.
Research and teaching
With the new position as consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and clinical professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre wishes to strengthen leadership in clinical research and teaching.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be board-certified specialist in child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
CONDITIONS
In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship) and to the Mental Health Services in the Capital Region (the consultancy) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as consultants at The Mental Health Services in the Capital Region.
Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.
As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g. research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre. The clinical professor will receive secretarial or technical support equivalent to 50 % of a full time secretary position from the department of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre. Additional support and details on the working conditions must be negotiated with the head of the department of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre.
