A position as Consultant and head of the doctors at the Fertility Clinic combined with a clinical professorship in Gynecology and Obstetrics with special focus on Reproduction

A clinical position as consultant of the Fertility Clinic at Juliane Marie Centret, Rigshospitalet is open for appointment from 1.June 2017 or as soon as possible.  
The position is combined with with a 5-year externally funded position as clinical professor in Gynecology and Obstetrics with special focus on Reproduction at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.  
With this new position the Fertility Clinic at Juliane Marie Centret, Rigshospitalet wishes to strengthen the leadership in clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen.  
 
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT  
The Fertility Clinic at Rigshospitalet offers all types of modern fertility treatments including risk reducing treatments like preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PDG), fertility treatment in HIV/Hepatitis positive patients and fertility preservation in young cancer patients. The Fertility Clinic also offers diagnosis and treatment of women with recurrent abortion. The Fertility Clinic works in close collaboration with other clinics at Rigshospitalet.  
 
The fertility clinic considers research an area of priority and has over the years been able to obtain significant international recognition for its research which among other areas includes prevention of reproductive diseases together with safety and quality of assisted reproduction treatments. On this background it is expected that the Consultant will actively contribute to the Fertility Clinics research focus areas and prioritise integration of research activities into the daily clinical work.  
 
Qualifications:  
Applicants must be board-certified specialist in gynaecology and have significant and documents clinical experience within assisted reproduction. Further, documented research experience in the area of assisted reproduction is a requirement.  
The consultant will be head of the medical staff at the Fertility Clinic and will be medically responsible for the treatments performed at the clinic. The Consultant is expected to participate in the Fertility Clinics clinical work – including the highly specialised treatment areas.  
 
The Consultant will together with the Head of Clinic be the management of the Fertility Clinic. The position as medical responsible includes also responsibility for planning and implementation of the Fertility Clinics daily clinical activities. As part of the clinic management the position involves shared responsibility for the clinics overall and strategic planning. This includes – in collaboration with the clinic counsel – focus on the best possible use of the clinics resources, implementation of local and regional quality initiatives and to ensure professional development and education of the clinic staff of all professions.  
The fertility area is especially characterised by the complexity of competences needed in order to offer high quality treatment to patients. It is therefore expected that the Consultant demonstrates an involving, collaborative and cross-professional recognising attitude.  
 
Conditions: It is a requirement for appointment that the applicant is accepted for both the professorship and the consultancy. Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.
