Research associate, PhD level Characterization of model drugs in drug delivery program

A 2 year time-limited position as a research associate, advanced (PhD) level, is open for appointment at the Finsen Laboratory, Rigshospitalet, to commence as soon as possible. The research associate will be part of the Cancer Invasion section at the laboratory, where we offer a strong international research environment and the opportunity to participate in the ongoing development of novel strategies for targeted cancer treatment.
In particular, the research associate will participate in the evaluation and optimization of select drug candidates in vitro and in vivo, and will mainly be responsible for the performance of studies in mouse cancer models, which are part of a larger ongoing program in the research group.
Qualifications: Relevant education within biological, biomedical or medical sciences and a PhD degree or equivalent professional experience. The applicant must possess comprehensive experience in research and/or developmental work in the field of disease models in research animals and must hold a FELASA C equivalent permit (EU Function ABD) to conduct animal experiments. In addition, the applicant should be familiar with standard laboratory techniques within molecular biology, cell biology and protein analysis. The project tasks are conducted in an integrated collaboration with an established research group at the laboratory and require elaborate skills within innovative research as well as strong collaborative skills.
Tasks: The research associate will be responsible for investigating the effects of model anti-cancer drugs, developed in the research group, in tumor-bearing mice. In addition, the work will include model drug analyses at the biochemical level and studies in vitro with cell cultures. The applicant is expected to contribute substantially to new development, initiation and completion of investigations, and documentation of results.

Salary and terms of employment according to the collective agreement negotiated between Danish Regions and the relevant organization. The position is associated with a time-limited project and has a fixed duration of two years.
The Finsen Laboratory is a research laboratory at Rigshospitalet, conducting basic cancer research and working to move the results forward to clinical use; see also www.finsenlab.dk.
