Aspects of Gynaecology and Obstetrics.
A position as consultant in Gynaecology
and Obstetrics at the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Nordsjællands Hospital is open for appointment
from as soon as possible.
The position is combined with a 5-year
externally funded position as clinical professor of Gynaecology and Obstetrics with special focus on
Epidemiological Aspects of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at the Faculty of Health
and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.
With this new position the Department of Gynaecology
and Obstetrics, Nordsjællands Hospital, wishes to strengthen the leadership in
clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University of
Copenhagen.
It is a requirement that the applicant is
accepted for appointment to both the professorship and the consultancy.
In order to be considered, the applicant

hospital and the department
Nordsjællands
Hospital
Nordsjællands Hospital is one of four
emergency admission hospitals serving the Capital Region of Denmark. The
hospital comprises Nordsjællands Hospital - Hillerød, Nordsjællands Hospital -
Frederikssund og Nordsjællands Hospital - Sundhedshuset Helsingør and has 4,000
employees. Annually, there are 250,000 outpatient visits, 65,000 admissions, 45,000
operations and 4,100 births.
Department of Gynaecology
and Obstetrics
Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics
provides services to 505,000 inhabitants in Zealand North of central
Copenhagen. Annually there are 63,000 outpatients visits, 9,000 admissions, and
3,400 operations. The department partakes in the educations of medical students
and nursing and midwifery students and also in the education of specialists in
gynaecology and obstetrics and in general medicine. There are 47 doctors, one
Head of Department, 20 consultants, 9 ward physicians and 17 doctors in
training.
The Gynaecological Team covers outpatient
and inpatient care, hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery, urogynaecology, fertility
treatment and palliative care for gynaecological cancer patients.
The Obstetrical Team covers outpatient
clinics with fetal medicine, emergency obstetrical outpatient and inpatient
care, delivery ward with 10 delivery suites, and postnatal and neonatal ward.
The department is being led by a
leadership team comprised of the medical Head of Department, the Head Nurse and
the Head Midwife. The professor consultant will refer to the Head of Department
and the other members of the leadership team.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be board-certified
specialists in gynaecology and obstestrics.
Conditions:
Only applicants for the position as
clinical professor in Gynaecology and Obstetrics with special focus on
Epidemiological Aspects of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at University of
Copenhagen can apply for this position. Appointment is conditioned by the fact
that the applicant applies for and obtains both positions.
Salary and conditions of employment as consultant
are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical
Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of
Copenhagen.
As clinical professor at least 50 % of the
working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g. research, teaching,
evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head
of Department of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of
Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement
with the head of Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Nordsjællands
Hospital. The clinical professor will receive secretarial or technical support
equivalent to 50 % of a full time position from the Department of Research. Additional
support and details on the working conditions must be negotiated with the Head
of the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Nordsjællands Hospital.
