Laboratory technician with experience in cell culturing and molecular biology methods 
Are you interested to join a newly established laboratory in translational psychiatry laboratory? Would you like to be a part of a team developing cell based cutting-edge techniques for modeling and studying psychiatric disorders? And make a difference for autistic patients? Then we offer meaningful work among good colleagues. We are looking for an experienced, committed and motivated laboratory technician for organizing the daily work in the Patient centered laboratory of Translational Psychiatry, Department of Psychiatry, Odense, contributing to the research projects of the group. 

About the group 
We are newly established very enthusiastic team consisting of 1 Professor, 1 Post Doc, 1 PhD student and a changing number of Master students. Our challenge is to understand the key mechanisms for developing psychiatric disorders like autism and schizophrenia. Our main goal is to establish cellular based models for psychiatric disorders based on patients’ derived iPSC and brain organoids.  

About the job 
Your primary tasks varied, but include: 
Organizing and supporting the daily work in the lab (ordering of e.g. basic laboratory items, chemicals, cell culture media, maintenance of equipment etc.) 
Maintaining the cell lines in biobank – fibroblasts, iPSC, astrocytes, neurons 
Performing molecular biology techniques ELISA, Western blot, qPCR 
Performing cryosectioning and immunocytochemistry 

Qualifications for the position 
Eagerness to learn, develop and adapt new methods and protocols 
You hold a certified laboratory technician diploma or similar and already have cell lab experience 
Experience with protein analysis methods like ELISA, Western blot 
Experience with PCR / DNA based methods 
Experience with fluorescent microscopy 
You have skills within data handling and reporting of data  
You are strong in verbal and written communication both in Danish and English 
Confident with IT, including the Office package, GraphPad  
Is committed and interested in joining a team 
Is flexible and can keep focus in pressured situations without losing your good mood 
Enjoy some routine work 

Personal qualifications 
You have a sense of responsibility, sense of order and are good planner.  
As a person, you have good collaborative skills and are helpful when problems arise in the department, but you also have the ability to work independently. 
You know how to work with others and you share your knowledge  
You find it motivating being part of and developing a small team  
You have a flexible attitude  
You have an analytical sense and problem-solving ability

Salary and terms of employment 
Wage and employment conditions under the OAO-S Joint Agreement and Organization Agreement for Office Officers, Laborants and IT Employees (HK / State) concluded with the Ministry of Finance. 
The post is initially for one year, with the option of extending the position.  
The workplace is the laboratory for Patients centered translational Psychiatry, at the Department of Psychiatry and the Institute of Molecular medicine, SDU.
