Consultancy in Clinical Immunology combined with a clinical professorship in Clinical Immunology with Special Focus on Donor Health and Individualized Diagnostics

 

A clinical position as consultant of Clinical Immunology at the Department of Clinical Immunology in at Zealand University Hospital Naestved is open for appointment at the earliest convenience.

 

The position is combined with a 5-year externally funded position as clinical professor of Clinical Immunology with focus on Donor Health and Individualized Diagnostics at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.

 

With this new position the Department of Clinical Immunology, at Zealand University Hospital Naestved, wishes to strengthen the leadership in clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen.

 

It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Clinical Immunology is a regional function that covers six hospital locations in Naestved, Slagelse, Nykoebing F, Holbaek, Roskilde and Koege and two large mobile units. The department refers to Zealand University Hospital and has its main location on the site in Naestved until 2024-25.

 

Clinical functions and focus areas of the department.

The main activity is collection of whole blood and production of blood components for transfusion as well as plasmapheresis for fractionation. We also produce bone, procure tendons for allogeneous transplantation, produce fecal microbioma for transplantation, autologous hematopoetic stem cells, and serum eye drops.

The department produces most of the analyses supporting the production of the various components and a panel of patient analyses covering some diagnostics for virus and immune deficiencies/dysfunction.

 

Research and teaching

With the new position as consultant in Clinical Immunology and Clinical professorship of donor health and individualized diagnostics the Department of Clinical Immunology wishes to strengthen leadership in clinical research and teaching.

 

Qualifications

Applicants must be board-certified specialist in Clinical Immunology.

 

Conditions

In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship) and to the hospital (the consultancy) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as consultants at Zealand University Hospital.

 

Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.

 

As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g. research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of Clinical Immunology. The clinical professor will receive secretarial or technical support equivalent to 50 % of a full time secretary position from the department of Clinical Immunology. Additional support and details on the working conditions is negotiated with the head of the department of Clinical Immunology, Zealand University Hospital.
