Senior Researcher - Neuropathy in Diabetes Research

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Senior Researcher (Associate Professor) to join the Steno Diabetes Neuro Unit, an integral part of the Translational Type 2 Diabetes Research group at the Translational and Clinical Research department of Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in formulating innovative research inquiries, designing studies utilizing both existing and novel clinical data, fostering collaborations within and beyond SDCC, and implementing cutting-edge research technologies in the field of neuropathy associated with diabetes.

Key Responsibilities

Conducting research in peripheral and autonomic neuropathy with a focus on publication and academic dissemination.

Mentoring fellow researchers, including PhD students and post-docs.

Grant writing for research initiatives.

Engaging in public outreach efforts.

Participating actively in academic assessments.

Contributing to the establishment of the recently formed Steno Diabetes Neuro Unit.

Profile

We are in search of a highly motivated and enthusiastic senior researcher possessing the following skills and qualifications:

MD and PhD with a background in diabetes research.

Postdoctoral experience in a relevant research field.

Preferably, prior work experience with a clinical connection.

Internationally recognized with an established network of collaborators and strong collaborative skills.

Proven track record of scientific productivity in peer-reviewed journals, including senior/last authorship.

Demonstrated success in securing extramural funding.

Experience in mentoring students, postdocs, and research staff.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in both written and spoken English.
