Consultancy in Internal medicine: Haematology combined with a clinical professorship in Internal medicine: Haematology with special focus on data-driven cancer treatment
A clinical position as consultant of Internal medicine: Haematology at the Department of Haematology at Copenhagen University Hospital - Rigshospitalet is open for appointment.
The position is combined with a 5-year externally funded position as clinical professor of Internal medicine: Haematology with special focus on data-driven cancer treatment at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.
It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Haematology is a specialized medical department with 40 patient beds and three large outpatient clinics and day hospitals, covering all aspects of haematology including benign and malignant diseases and treatment with allogeneic stem cell transplantation and CAR-T cells. The department has a large clinical trial unit which also includes a portfolio of phase 1 trials. There are in total 69 physicians in the department. The specialists are divided into teams according to their subspecialty (lymphoma, myeloma, myeloid/benign and allogeneic stem cell transplantation). The applicant for this position will be part of the lymphoma team.
Clinical functions and focus areas of the department: All aspects of haematology are covered in the department, including diagnosis and treatment of all haematological malignancies and benign diseases including inherited disorders such as haemoglobinopaties and bleeding disorders. Several research groups are based in the department and cover research within haemostasis, multiple myeloma, lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndromes, acute leukemias, erythrocyte diseases and aspects of allogeneic stem cell transplantation. Several physicians are responsible for the conduction of clinical trials within all major disease groups.
Research and teaching
With the new position as consultant in Department of Haematology and clinical professor of Haematology with special focus on data-driven cancer treatment, the Department of Haematology wishes to strengthen leadership in clinical research and teaching.
Qualifications
Applicants must be board-certified specialist in Internal medicine: Haematology with comprehensive knowledge and experience within haematological malignancies.
Conditions
In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship) and to the hospital (the consultancy) for the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is by condition that the applicant obtains both positions during the application proces. This also applies to applicants who are already employed as consultants at Copenhagen University Hospital - Rigshospitalet.
Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed upon between the Danish Health Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region and University of Copenhagen.
As clinical professor 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g. research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of Department of Haematology and will include clinical duties in the outpatient clinic for lymphoma patients. Additional support and details on the working conditions must be negotiated with the head of the Department of Haematology, Copenhagen University Hospital - Rigshospitalet.
