Clinical functions and focus areas of the department

The Trauma Section functions independently with its own separate conferences for handover, education, and team cohesion. The section is facing changes in the near future. The focus will be on development, unity, and high professional standards. We aim to provide a strong educational environment for both specialists and junior doctors. There should be a natural and friendly interaction between colleagues, and the sense of community should uplift the entire section.

The section seeks to strengthen research in traumatology, with the hope that the majority of our patients will be included in clinical research. We aim to create an environment where it is natural for both trauma section specialists and the junior doctors affiliated with the section to actively participate in clinical research, including patient recruitment and follow-up.

We hope to contribute to bringing together the region’s traumatology departments in collaborative research projects, and to become a national flagship in traumatology research.

We expect that you:

  • Are an expert surgeon with a strong focus on difficult and complex trauma-related surgeries
  • A strong clinical experience in treating trauma patients.
  • Possess significant research experience and the ambition to help build a strong research culture alongside the department’s other research-active physicians.
  • Are sociable and eager to work in teams — both with fellow surgeons in the trauma section and with junior doctors, nurses, anesthesia staff, physiotherapists, etc.
  • Are proactive, reliable, enthusiastic in daily clinical work, productive, and willing to represent the department/section at national and international congresses and meetings.
  • Are focused on education and good at teaching others.
