PhD project - Outcomes of stress among parents to children and adolescents with mental health disorders

Call for applications for a fully financed PhD fellowship
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated person to pursue a PhD in our mental health research group at the Danish Center for Health Services Research. This is a 3-year, full-time position funded by an external grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation and Obel Family Foundation. Preferred start date in the first quarter of 2026.

About the job
This PhD project will investigate associations between parent characteristics, perceived stress, and health outcomes in families of children and young people with mental health disorders, drawing on interdisciplinary perspectives from psychology, psychiatry, and public health.

The project’s findings are expected to contribute both to theoretical knowledge and to strategies for supporting families affected by child and adolescent mental health disorders.

The PhD project will involve analysis of secondary data from the Danish national registers supplemented by data from a national survey. The PhD project will be a part of the “Best for Us” project. The “Best for Us” project is aimed at children and adolescents with mental distress or mental disorders requiring treatment, and its purpose is to improve both access to and the quality of care.
