Data Scientist (1-year position)
Do you want to apply advanced data analytics and AI to improve patient care and generate knowledge on stress and mental health? We are looking for a Data Scientist for a 1-year position in a leading interdisciplinary research environment.
You will work with large-scale Danish health data, including nationwide registers, and clinical text, in close collaboration with physicians, psychologists, and statisticians.
About the projects
Our projects combine clinical studies and large-scale register-based analyses to better understand stress and mental disorders. We aim to identify risk and protective factors, improve prediction of disease trajectories, and support prevention and treatment using advanced data science methods.
Your key tasks
- Develop and validate predictive models using health and registry data
- Apply NLP to analyse municipal data and other text data
- Use modern machine learning methods, including large language models
- Work with complex, multimodal datasets
- Contribute to scientific publications and dissemination
About the position
This is a 1-year position with the possibility of extension. You will play a key role in driving research projects from analysis to publication, applying robust statistical and machine learning methods to real-world clinical and registry data. The role combines independent work with close interdisciplinary collaboration.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a MSc or PhD in data science, statistics, computer science, bioinformatics, or a related field
- Has strong experience in machine learning and epidemiology
- Has experience with predictive modelling and NLP
- Is skilled in Python (or R) and relevant tools
- Has strong analytical skills
- Thrives in interdisciplinary collaboration
Preferred experience
- Large-scale datasets (e.g. nationwide registers or health data)
- Survival analysis or causal inference methods
- Longitudinal or clinical trial data analysis
About the environment
You will join an internationally research group at the Department of Occupational and Environmental Health, working in a dynamic team researchers. The group focuses on high-impact science and data-driven improvements in mental health care.
