Part time Clinical Psychologist combined with an Assistant Professorship at Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen

A 4-year part time position (15 hours per week) as clinical psychologist at the Mental Health Services, Capital Region of Denmark is open for appointment from 1. August 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The position is combined with a 4-year Assistant Professorship of Clinical Research at Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen.

The assistant professor has a part time employment (60%) as Assistant Professor of Clinical Research at Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen and a part time (40%) position as clinical psychologist at either Psychiatric Center Ballerup, Psychiatric Center Copenhagen, Psychotherapeutic Center Stolpegård or Child- and Adolescent Psychiatric Center.

The position includes as default 40% clinical employment, 40% research and 20% teaching.

The clinical position is linked to Mental Health Services – Capital Region of Denmark. The research position is shared between Mental Health Services – Capital Region of Denmark and Department of Psychology. The teaching obligations are linked to Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen

With this new position the Mental Health Services – Capital Region of Denmark wishes to strengthen the leadership in clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen.

It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the assistant professorship and the clinical position.
 

ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

At the Mental Health Services – Capital Region of Denmark we diagnose and treat patients with all kinds of mental disorders. Each year we treat approximately 50.000 patients and employ approximately 5.000 dedicated employees. The Mental Health Services, Capital Region of Denmark consist of a number of general, specialized and highly specialized daycare and outpatient units, as well as major internationally recognized research units.
 

CLINICAL FUNCTIONS AND FOCUS AREAS FOR THE POSITION 

• Participate in clinical work and quality development including supervision
• Building bridges between daily clinical work and research
• Participate in meetings, working groups, projects and academic activities across the Mental Health Services- Capital Region of Denmark related to development and research tasks
• Seek and obtain external funding for research projects in collaboration with Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen
   

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have authorisation as a psychologist.
 

CONDITIONS

In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Department of Psychology (the assistant professorship) and to the hospital (the clinical position) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the assistant professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as clinical psychologist at the Mental Health Services – Capital Region of Denmark.

Salary and conditions of employment as clinical psychologist are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Psychological association and between the Capital Region and Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen.

40 % of the combined position as an assistant professor will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of the hiring psychiatric centre.

The remaining time (position at the Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen) will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g. research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen.
Research projects are planned in collaboration between Mental Health Services - Capital Region of Denmark and Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen
