Consultancy in Neurology combined with a clinical professorship (chair) in Neurology
A clinical position as consultant of neurology at the Department of Medicine 3 and the Department of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy at Central and West Zealand Hospital(MVH), Slagelse is open for appointment from as soon as possible.
The position is combined with a 10-year position as clinical professor (chair) of Neurology at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.
With this new position the Department of Medicine 3 and the Department of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, Central and West Zealand Hospital, Slagelse wishes to strengthen the leadership in clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen.
It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy.

About the department
The Neurological Department in MVH, Slagelse is dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of a wide spectrum of neurological disorders at the main functional level. On the ward, patients are received for phase II rehabilitation, primarily stroke patients, in the outpatient clinic patients are seen for preliminary examinations and there are specialist clinics for multiple sclerosis, headache, Parkinson's and epilepsy, among other things. In the outpatient clinic there is a memory clinic, which is an interdisciplinary clinic with specialists from neurology, geriatrics and psychiatry and neuropsychologists. In the coming year an acute neurological service will be established in the department covering patients for the Centra and West Zealand area.
In MVH, Næstved Centre for Neurorehabilitation (CNN) is situated with the regional function for the neurorehabilitation of adult patients with sequelae after brain injury and after Guillain Barre's syndrome.

Neurology is part of Medicine 3 and the Department of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. The department consists of both the neurological and geriatric specialties. Professionally, the specialties are divided, but collaboration is always in focus. The Department of Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy covers the needs of all departments in the entire hospital in Slagelse and Næstved.
Clinical functions and focus areas of the department
The position will have the main clinical work in Slagelse. As a consultant in the Department of Neurology, you will have a clinical function in the outpatient clinic with subspecialty patients. You are expected to have an interest in neurorehabilitation and the consequences of brain injury. All consultants in the department participate in the postgraduate teaching in the department, are clinical supervisors for doctors in training and as a professor there is also responsibility for the medical students who will be assigned to the department in the coming years. Research is in focus in the Department of Medicine 3 and the Department of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy and three professors are working in different areas.
Research and teaching
With this new position the Department of Medicine 3, Central and West Zealand Hospital, Slagelse wishes to strengthen the leadership in clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen.
Qualifications
Applicants must be board-certified specialist in Neurology.
Conditions
In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship) and to the hospital (the consultancy) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as consultants at Central and West Zealand Hospital – Slagelse.
Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.
As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g., research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of the department. Additional support and details on the working conditions must be negotiated with the head of the department of Medicine 3, Central and West Zealand Hospital.

Starting salary for employees under a collective agreement
The Region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of the basic salary, centrally determined supplements and pension in the relevant collective agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the salary may include any negotiated supplements depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
